Website Hosting

Hosting is the foundation of your website. Not all website hosting is the same.  Security, performance, optimisation and ease of use all depend on it.  The hosting we offer is very good value for what is provided.  Premium hosting on our premium and VIP plans means your site will load even faster.

Website Updates

Just like your phone has software updates, your website needs to be updated too.  Out-of-date plugins are the main cause of website hacks. We take care of all updates for you.

SSL Certificate

All our websites come with a free SSL certificate so that your visitors know you’re secure and it’s safe for them to browse and take action on your website.

Website Backups

Backing up your website regularly is critical for many reasons but most importantly, if the site should need to be restored, transferred or downloaded.  We offer daily backups and restoration as needed for all clients on our plans.

Website Optimisation

In order for websites to load fast, perform well and to ensure speed, the files, database and media need to be optimized. We have special tools that keep your site optimized and running smoothly along with cleaning up any and all “web gunk.”

Tech Support

You, as a website hosting and maintenance plan client, have our ongoing support. If you have any questions or need something doing just email us on our support email and we do our best to get back to you within 2 business days or sooner in the unlikely event there is a major problem with your website!

What is the commitment?

If for any reason you want to stop our website hosting and maintenance plan, you have complete freedom to do so.  Just notify us before your next payment.  

Note if you decide to take care of your own website and move to another provider, you will lose access to updates on our premium theme and plugins (which are valued at over £100 per year).

If you need our help moving the files over to a new host this will be charged at the discounted maintenance plan rate of £60/hour. 

Are there any setup fees?

There is no set up fee

Do I have to take out one of your plans?

You do not have to take our website hosting and maintenance plan but it is highly recommended because of the importance of security, optimisation, updates, backups, support, etc

If you choose not to take out one of our plans, you will assume complete responsibility for the website updates, security, backups and other services laid out in this plan.  We take no liability in the event your website is breached, hacked or performs slowly.

Of course we won’t leave you high and dry in that event (we’re not mean!) but you would need to pay our standard hourly rate (currently £80/hour) if you wanted our help to sort it out.

Can I join the plan if I originally chose not to?

Absolutely! 

What if I require more time than the support time allows?

The different plans have different levels of support time because we know businesses have different needs.  

In the event you need more time then this will be charged at the discounted rate (£60/hour) and billed quarterly.  If it is a significant piece of work (expected to take more than an hour) we will pre-notify you and we may be able to quote a fixed fee.

What if I decline to take out one of your plans and my site gets hacked?

Website hacks are fortunately rare, but out of date plugins, themes and wordpress are more prone to hacking than well maintained sites.

If you want to deal with it yourself we recommend using our preferred malware and blacklist removal specialists, Sucuri, or if you’d like to join our plan and have us take care of getting the hack cleaned, we have a £300 site cleaning/set up fee.

Depending on the type of hack/breach and how long the site has been compromised, SEO rankings and blacklisting issues may take weeks or even months to resolve and in some cases will require more additional work to recover from.

Important note: We do not fixed website hacks unless the site will subsequently be added to our plan.

What if the site gets hacked or breached while on the plan?
In the extremely unlikely event that a website is breached or hacked in any way while on our plan, we take full responsibility and will rectify the situation immediately. You will not need to do a thing.
Do you take on sites that you didn't build?

No.  Unless we are going to rebuild the site.  If you have other websites with us we may take on a website not built by us, depending on the tools used

Do you offer discounts for multiple sites?

Absolutely! If you choose to have us host and maintain additional sites under your account, you’ll get a discount for every site you add which will be active for as long as we host and maintain the sites.  Contact us to discuss.

Does my tech support time roll over if it is not used?

I’m afraid not.  We price based upon the expectation that not everyone will use their full allocated time each quarter or year.  It is intended to be used in the event you need it.

The annual plans allow for the tech support time to be used at any point during the year.

 

What's included in the tech support time?

Your tech support time can be used for whatever you would like it to be used. For example, changing content, new pages, queries about how to do something or anything you want changing.  

While we do our best to get updates done within your allotted time, if more time is required, we can do so with our hourly retainer which for you is discounted!

Note: The allotted monthly time is for work or updates on the existing website and cannot be used for other projects. We’re happy to do those things either via our discounted hourly rate or via a discounted and separate fixed project!
