How to Write High Converting Website Copy

online course

Are you struggling to write copy for your website?  Do you stare at a blank sheet of paper or write something and cross it out because it just doesn’t seem right, then go and make another cup of tea or find something else to do?  Find someone else’s website you like and plagiarise that?  Or maybe you have a website but it is just a bit “meh” – it doesn’t really do anything?  You know that what you write (as well as how your website looks) has a massive impact on whether potential customers choose to work with you or someone else, and therefore the money you make, but why is it so hard???

Have you thought about hiring a copywriter, but been concerned about the cost and whether they will “get” you and your business – and the thought of finding and instructing one is just another thing to add to your, never-ending, to do list?

Would you like your website to work harder at getting customers for you?  A website that means you can spend your time “doing” your business rather than chasing business?  Would you like to wave a magic wand and have your copy written in a way that will persuade visitors to your website to buy from you?

Sorry we don’t have a magic wand, but our “how to write high converting website copy” can help you get a website that converts more visitors to customers without as much effort from you.  Leaving you with more time, and energy, to work on the bits of your business you enjoy.

In this course we will guide you through the basic building blocks you need before you begin to write your website and then go through what should be on each of the main pages with you.  We will teach you how to write each page in a way that is proven to attract and convert more customers (without being sales sleazy).  We will provide you with pdf templates and cheatsheets to make it easier for you.

Once you have completed the course you will have your website written.  Written in a way to convert more customers, giving you more money and more time.  And all with less stress…

Why this course?

Writing copy for your website is hard.  We know because we have sat there looking at the blank screen or complete jibberish that we have written.  But it’s not about english skills (“never start a sentence with but” said my english teacher), nor is it about hard selling.

We have developed a model for small businesses which is easy to follow and uses key building blocks to write copy (and use images) in a way that works for your audience.

Marie’s course came at the perfect time, as I was creating a sales page for a product, as well as building a new website from scratch. The templates for each page were so helpful to organise my thoughts and I found writing everything out on paper first very useful. Everything was broken down into doable, and easy to understand action points and I found it much easier to write authentically and in a way that was reaching my ideal clients. I also very much appreciated Marie’s humour!

This course helps organise thoughts and ideas into a logical, customer friendly way so that your website can make a big impact.  It was simple to follow and implement, and great to get clarity on what you should and shouldn’t be doing on your website.  Thank you for putting this together and making the overwhelm disappear

I set up my physiotherapy and pilates business on a shoestring but as it began to grow I knew I needed a more professional appearance.  I wanted to design a very basic website but had no idea where to even start with writing copy.  I had stumbled across Beyond the Kitchen Table online and taken part in the How To Plan Your Website Facebook challenge.  I took to Marie’s relaxed and friendly communication style and was very impressed with her encouraging feedback.  After completing the challenge, I felt really inspired and signed up to the  course to finish off the good work I had started.

The course was split into manageable modules which took me anything from 20 mins to 3-4 hours to complete.  There was a mixture of activities.  We had videos to watch explaining what we were to do and most importantly why and cheat sheets to fill in with various prompts to help ensure our content was clear and concise.

Having completed the course, I am very proud of the finished article and have much more than the basic website I set out to design.  Such an impressive website deserved a new logo, branded clothing, flyers and a grand launch, all of which have happened as a direct result of signing up for this course and kickstarting my desire to build a more successful business.  My customer base is steadily increasing and my business name is now being recognised and talked about locally.  I have some ongoing tasks to do on my website to finish it off and improve my search engine optimisation but it feels very manageable rather than daunting.

I would highly recommend the course to anyone who is considering setting up their own website or who wants to perfect what they already have.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is this course for?

This course is for any small business or freelancer that wants a website that reflects their business and their customers.
It is for people who are willing to take action based upon the tasks given.  It is not for anyone who wants their website written for them.

My website is on WordPress/Wix/Weebly/Squarespace – will it work for me?

The course is about the content of the website so it doesn’t matter what technical platform your website is built on or will be built on

I have already asked a developer to build me a website – why do I need this course?

The best person to write the content for a website is YOU!  You know your business better than anyone else and the impression you want to convey.  An experienced copywriter can edit and polish the content for you, if needed, and a developer can then build you a website using that content.

How much time will it take?

All modules will be released weekly over the course of 4 weeks.  2 – 4 hours a week working through them should be enough

How long can I take to complete the course?

You can take as long as you want, although we advise you to get cracking on it straight away!  We are big believers in taking action.  The course materials will be available to you forever.

What does it cost?

The cost of the course is £200
